Out in La and broke on a ticket that this fellow sent me,
one change of clothes in a suitcase that my girlfriend anna lent me,
i stayed for a while at his place runnin with his crowd of his,
partyin day after day and meetin everybody in the biz,

after the two hundreth time i told him he was just terriffic,
i woke up one late afternoon and didnt know quite were i was,
left over taste in my mouth and with the morning after buzz,
i packed my bags and split and found myself a dancing job,
worked the bar for tips and stripped for every lonely slob,
i counted every single minute as the hours went by,
then fell in bed and cried til there were no more tears to cry...
i tried to stop the thought from coming that it never ends,
you think about how far you are, from home and friends,
you get through one day at a time you find a way of staying numb and dont look in the mirror to see what youve become,
