Of a burial under a cloud

Evoked the mirth of spring
So here they arrived at haven
And thought they could stay
By this river and breathe free

But hope
It dispersed in homes and haunts-
Like mercy that is now in pieces
There by the promise
Broken down by murder
Striking life down and harvesting
Its own
From the earth
As it was season making room for
Spring itself
