Album: More Tea, Vicar?ReflectionsKamikaze insects dive headlong into our lights as we drive
Out along along the boulevards between the seashore and the park;
Half-remembered benches sprawling, fading, into neon lights
Beneath the patient evergreens who've seen it all so many times . . .
Boats wait, creaking, in the water,
Calling us to sail away
To places under unfamiliar skies
Where we can start again . . .
On the beach there was a time our fires climbed to burn the stars;
Angie danced like nothing human, touching heaven in her flight.
Seems so long ago we all sat disbelieving round the embers,
Even your guitar was silent far into the dawn . . .
Boats wait, creaking, in the water,
Calling us to sail away
To places under unfamiliar skies
Where we can start again . . .
Images and vestiges of life we always took for granted
Still appear to haunt us now, who never meant to change at all.
What became of innocent ideals and friends who shared in them?
Did they die or did they just get bored? I guess we'll never know.
Boats wait, creaking, in the water,
Calling us to sail away . . .
Boats wait, creaking, in the water,
Calling us to sail away . . . (repeat to fade)
